Ministry Leaders workshop to highlight hospitality

We know you’re busy! But we like to gather all of our important ministry leaders at least once a year to provide inspiration, information, training and feedback. You are the important “unpaid staff” of our parish and, for many in our parish, you are the face of St. Francis Xavier!

We are excited to host Christy Cabaniss, the diocesan director of missionary discipleship, who will be speaking to us about the importance of hospitality and welcome. Over and over, we hear how these aspects — which we who have been here awhile might take for granted — are critical to the way in which parishioners connect, engage and grow in faith and discipleship. And we know this has generational impact — if the parents don’t buy in, how will their children?

We also want to make sure you have the tools to be successful in your ministry, so we’ll talk about using Flocknote, changes to the bulletin, social media options, the Clevertouch boards and more. We will tell you more about how our Stewardship Commitment Cards will work this year — and what this means for you.

Plus, you’ll get to connect with fellow ministry leaders and your liaison to our Stewardship Committee, to share ideas for overcoming obstacles and let us know where you need assistance.

So, we hope that you’ll make plans to join us Saturday. We promise to respect your time and not keep you longer than necessary.

Here’s our agenda.

  • 8:30 a.m. Check-in, breakfast items
  • 9 a.m. Welcome & prayer with Fr. Tony
  • 9:15 a.m. Christy Cabaniss, director of missionary discipleship

  • 10:30 a.m. short break
  • 10:45 a.m. Information sharing: Room reservations, bulletin & social media, Flocknote, Clevertouch, Commitment Card timing/process, #weGiveCatholic (early giving starts the next day – eek!), Q&A

Thank you for making time to attend this morning session. To enhance your own spirituality this Advent, we have copies of Bishop Barron’s Advent reflections for all those attend, plus a chance to “shop” our bookstore of new books from Dynamic Catholic. We look forward to spending this time with you!
