Virtus training offered here

Comment are off

VirtusSt. Francis Xavier Parish will offer Virtus training here on Tuesday, Nov. 17, for all adults who work with children, such as a coach, teacher, scout leader, minister or volunteer.

Virtus is the program designed to assist the Church in being a safe haven for children and a messenger for preventing child sexual abuse within the Church and society in general. The multimedia Protecting God’s Children program educates and trains adults about the dangers of abuse, the warning signs of abuse, the ways to prevent abuse, the methods of properly reporting suspicions of abuse, and responding to allegations of abuse.

All adults who work with children other than their own are required to complete Virtus training to begin to volunteer at St. Francis Xavier Parish and in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. The session here, in the Xavier Room, begins at 6:30 p.m. and will end about 9 p.m.

To register for our session (or any other), visit www.virtus.org and click on “Registration” in the left column. There is no charge to attend, and no preparation is required. The event is open to the public and may fill up, so be sure to register as soon as possible to avoid having to travel to another session outside our parish.

If you have already completed Virtus training,  you do not need to attend this session. However, we strongly encourage you to visit the Virtus website to complete any training bulletins you have missed. Thank you for your dedication to keeping our children safe!
