The 2016-2017 school year will begin soon! The school year kicks off Friday, Aug. 12, with an open house from 6 to 7 p.m., and the Welcome Back Tailgate Party from 6 to 9 p.m. on the parish grounds.

The open house gives students a chance to find their homeroom, meet their teacher and drop off any of the school supplies they have for the coming year. The first day of school for students in grades 1 to 8 is Wednesday, Aug. 17.

The tailgate party is sponsored by the families of this year’s eighth-graders, who are raising money for their annual trip to Washington, D.C. The party will include 25-cent carnival games, a great Chinese auction, a gift card calendar raffle ($10 to play, with 30 chances to win a great gift card!), and hot dogs/hamburgers/water/pop/chips for sale. Class lists will be posted Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 3 p.m. in the Xavier Room windows. Orientations take place Monday, Aug. 15. Kindergartners whose last names begin A-M start school Thursday, Aug. 18. Teachers have a mandatory diocesan in-service on Friday, Aug. 19, so NO SCHOOL that day for our students. Then the rest of the kindergartners start Monday, Aug. 22, with the whole grade beginning Tuesday, Aug. 23.

Preschool begins Aug. 22 for the 4’s and 5’s, and Aug. 23 for the 3-year-olds.
