Lenten Bible Study groups forming

The Creed in ScriptureHave you participated in a small-group faith community here at St. Francis Xavier Parish? Every Lent, hundreds of parishioners gather in small groups to read and discuss a book about our Catholic faith. Most groups only meet during Lent; others continue to meet year-round to grow together in faith. Groups exist for men only, women only, or couples. Some groups meet during the evenings, others during the day. Some are groups of mothers with their young children, and others are retirees.

St. Francis Xavier Parish will provide each interested parishioner with a book for this study. This year the small-group faith sharing groups will study Stephen Binz’s “The Creed in Scripture.”

Let’s explore such questions as: Why did The Church feel the need for the Creed? Has saying the Creed become automatic for you? What does consubstantial mean anyway?

Groups meet once a week for about two hours during Lent. This is a great seasonal (a.k.a. short time commitment) ministry for you to meet others in the parish and discuss our faith.

If you’ve participated before, GREAT! Simply contact your facilitator and let him or her know that you’d like to participate again.

If you’re new, simply CLICK HERE to register online. Chelly Bergman, our ministry leader, will contact you to determine the time you’d like to meet and help place you with a group.

Lent begins February 10! Sign up today!
