July 3 Prayer Service for Religious Freedom

Comment are off

Join us at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3, for a 30-minute Eucharistic prayer service for life, marriage and liberty as we participate in the Fortnight for Freedom 2014.

Put your chairs and blankets in place, then gather in church to sing patriotic songs, pray for blessings upon His people, recite the Litany for Liberty and adore the Blessed Sacrament. Afterward, we will have red, white and blue frozen treats and other giveaways at the Washington Street entrance to celebrate our nation’s birthday.

Stay and watch Medina’s fireworks from our front lawn (best views are near the new parking lot and playground). You might miss some of the ground displays, but you’ll have a good view of the impressive “bombs bursting in air” and the kids can hang out with friends on the playground. Plus, you’ll likely have a much easier journey home with a fraction of the traffic encountered closer to the high school. Come celebrate with your parish family!

“For you were called for freedom, brothers.  But do not use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh; rather, serve one another through love. For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement, namely, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ … But if you are guided by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Galatians 5:1, 13-18)
