RSVP now for annual Feast Day Dinner & Concert
Please join in celebrating the Feast Day of St. Francis Xavier and the beginning of our parish’s 164th year on Saturday, Dec. 2.
The evening’s festivities begin with Mass at 5 p.m., followed by a catered dinner in the church basement at 6 p.m. There is no cost for dinner, but RSVPs are required, as space is limited. Please use the web link below to make your reservation, or call the parish office. After dinner, at 7:30 p.m., everyone is invited to gather again in the church for a moving concert of Advent and Christmas music.
This year’s concert is in the tradition of years past — a large-scale choral work will be performed with orchestra. St. Francis Parish Choir, alongside community members and guest musicians, will present “Magnificat” by Taylor Scott Davis. This inspirational piece of music is a retelling of the Canticle of Mary from the Gospel of Luke — in which Mary praises the Lord for having been chosen to carry the Messiah — a most fitting scriptural meditation for the Advent and Christmas seasons.
This performance features soloists Marian Fletcher, soprano; Teagan Webb, mezzo soprano; and Tyler Skidmore, tenor.
The concert will also feature a performance of music for the season by the St. Francis Children’s Choir, and will conclude with a rousing round of carols in “A Christmas Festival” — complete with audience sing-a-long!
As a gift to all parishioners, all the evening’s events are all offered free of charge. This night of joyous fellowship and beautiful music is a wonderful way to mark the beginning of the Advent season and prepare your hearts for the coming of Christ at Christmas!
