Last year’s Day of Service was such a big hit — let’s do it again!

The St. Francis Xavier Parish Day of Service 2016 will be Saturday, May 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We have contacted many different charities and service organizations right here in Medina County and have lined up diverse opportunities for us to be of service as caring members of our community. The weekend of April 30 and May 1, members of our Day of Service and Year of Mercy planning committees and Stewardship Committee will be in the church basement after Mass (except LifeTeen because of Bingo) to help you see the opportunities that are available and to help you sign up.

Choose activities in the morning or afternoon — or both, as many of our 275 participants did last year! We’ll start in the Church Basement for instructions, shirts, water, and prayer before sending you out to your locations. (Be at St. Francis Xavier at 8:30 a.m. for morning assignments, or 12:30 p.m. for afternoon ones.) Then come back for 5 p.m. Mass in our church, and stay for dinner in the church basement as we review photos of the day and swap stories. It will be a great celebration of thanksgiving for the opportunity to serve Christ through his people here in our community.
