CYO football coming to SFX

Comment are off

CYOFor the first time in its 155-year history, St. Francis Xavier Parish will field a youth football team this fall. Pastoral designee Kim Tuchek, who serves as our parish athletic director, announced Father Tony’s decision Feb. 4.

In the coming weeks, registration forms will be available for boys and girls in the day school, PSR or homeschool programs entering the seventh grade to play CYO football as a St. Francis Xavier Parish “Navigator.”

Next year’s eighth-graders, who have played until now with St. Ambrose Parish, will continue to play next fall for St. Ambrose. The following year (2016-17), St. Francis Xavier will field seventh- and eighth-grade teams playing “11-man tackle.”

Tony DiMarino, a parishioner, will serve as the volunteer commissioner. For more information, contact Tony at anthonydimarino@hotmail.com. Thank you to Tony and a crew of committed volunteers for devoting the time and energy to make this happen!
