Communal Penance Service at Holy Martyrs on Dec. 1

Do you know that our loving God, the creator of the universe, desires a personal and loving relationship with YOU?  And yet, so often we allow sin to creep in and impede that relationship.

Why not make an Advent resolution to restore that relationship by celebrating the sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation?

St. Francis Xavier Parish will once again partner with Holy Martyrs Parish to offer an Advent communal penance service. The service, at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, at Holy Martyrs Church will begin with readings, reflection and an examination of conscience. Individual, private confessions will follow with a number of visiting priests who want nothing more than to serve as the conduit through which you receive all the grace God desires for you.

Need a refresher on what to say and do? The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has prepared a wonderful document to guide you through the sacrament. You can find that here.

As we prepare to celebrate our Lord’s birth, our reconciliation would be the very best gift we can offer Him.
