Nancy Fiamingo
Nancy Fiamingo joined St. Francis Xavier as pastoral associate in August 2018. Her areas of ministry include evangelization, adult education and faith-sharing, and welcoming. She was born and raised in Baltimore, MD, receiving Catholic education at St. Michael the Archangel, the Catholic High School of Baltimore, and Fairfield University.
Her pathway into ministry began in Horseheads, N.Y., at St. Mary Our Mother Church as a confirmation catechist. After moving to Lancaster, PA, and then to Strongsville, OH, Nancy was given more opportunities to say “yes” to invitations to share her faith with teenagers. In 1996 she became the first youth minister at St. John Neumann Parish in Strongsville, a full-time position she held through May 2015.
During her time at SJN, Nancy was continuously trained in youth ministry through Life Teen International. She also served from 2008 to 2019 as area contact for Ohio, supporting parishes that implement Life Teen and Edge. She is a Life Teen Certified Trainer and completed Theology of the Body Immersion Course I.
From August 2015 through May 2018, Nancy served as a pastoral associate at Holy Martyrs Church, Medina, where she established a small groups ministry in which over 200 people engaged weekly. She witnessed the transformation that occurs when people are given opportunities to make their large church small and personal; where parishioners connect with one another, sharing life and growing together spiritually.
Nancy and her husband, Vince, are proud parents of three adult children and grandparents to five little “angels.” Nancy feels blessed to be ministering with joy and sharing our beautiful faith with the wonderful community of St. Francis Xavier.
