Continue the Journey by getting involved with your faith at St. Francis Xavier

Two years ago, we were just beginning to hear about a virus that was causing a lot of trouble in areas that seemed far away from Medina, Ohio. How many of us could predict the tremendous shift that would take place in our lives?

The pandemic hit only a few weeks after we had conducted our annual Stewardship Commitment campaign. Instead of ramping up our ministries and embracing new members, things were shutting down as we retreated into our homes for fear of getting sick. The diocese ordered us to stop celebrating public Masses, and eventually the church doors were locked. It was truly an incredible time to be living…like something out of a bad movie.

Fast forward two years and we are gladly emerging from this cocoon, ready to find new ways to connect with our faith and with each other. Now is an ideal time to consider where God is calling you to use gifts and talents that might’ve been used differently in these circumstances, or possibly not at all.
We’ve seen what life is like when we’re isolated and fending for ourselves. How much more beautiful it is to come together in community, doing what each of us can to support each other with our unique gifts!

Take some time to pray about new ways you can share yourself — your time in prayer, your talents in ministry, and your treasure that makes it all possible. Commitment cards are at the church entrances and in this weekend’s bulletin for you to browse. Go to the parish website for a little more information about these ministries and opportunities. Ask God where he wants you to dive in. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Maybe he’s calling you to help begin something new! Let us know.

The week of March 12-13, we will fill out the cards in Mass (feel free to bring your completed card from home – or scan the QR code on it to complete a Google form online).

Members of our Stewardship Committee will get lists of interested members to the various ministry leaders to start bringing the important work of the parish back to life.

Thank you for being part of our Journey!
