We can do so much good when #weGiveCatholic! Since 2016, St. Francis Xavier has raised more than $200,000 in this annual Giving Day to support our livestream capabilities, install air filtration systems to make our indoor spaces safer, update all the water fountains, boost technology with new Clevertouch boards, create a school makerspace, and much more.

#weGiveCatholic is Northeast Ohio’s Online Day of Catholic Giving. It is a fun and exciting way to come together as one and “Give Catholic” on Giving Tuesday, a globally recognized day of giving. Giving Tuesday also kicks off the Advent and charitable season.

Why two campaigns?

This year, once again, our parish and school are participating as two separate entities. Both are eligible for bonus prizes that stretch the impact of your donations. Consider giving to both!

Where will my donation go?

The parish plans to substantially renovate Mary’s courtyard between the parish office and school, replacing the crumbling statue, enlarging the patio space for more groups to gather, and creating a more prayerful space to honor our Blessed Mother. The school is raising money to “bridge the gap” between the actual cost to operate the school and what’s raised by tuition, and hopes to start updating school bathrooms. The diocese keeps none of these donations.

#weGiveCatholic is Nov. 30, 2021, from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

How do we donate?

Because this mostly takes place online, donors need a credit card and access to the internet. However, donors may bring cash or check donations to our parish office. They will be entered manually to count toward our totals. Visit wegiveCatholic.org for more information and to give online.

What’s the best way to maximize my contribution?

Every contribution helps us win prizes. The diocese’s Catholic Community Foundation, which coordinates this day of giving, has solicited donations as incentive prizes to parishes and schools like ours. Most prizes are based on the number of individual donors. For example, the parish in our size category with the most “unique” donors will win an extra $2,000! Asking each family member to make a donation helps even more than one large family donation (but we love those too!).

When should we donate?

Give from 12 to 6 a.m. to help the parish win $1,000 for the most donors! And, thanks to a very generous parishioner, gifts to the parish during this time block will be matched (up to $10,000) to double your impact!

Also, sometime during the 2 p.m. hour, the Foundation will announce that all donations will be matched, dollar for dollar, by a diocesan donor until the $15,000 pot is gone. Stay tuned to social media and email, and help us get some of that outside money! Watch for our own prize drawings throughout the day, too!
