Annual Veterans Day Concert to include Adult Choir, parishioner musicians

The Medina Community Band, under the baton of Marcus Neiman, conductor, and the St. Francis Xavier Church Adult Choir, under the direction of Carissa Young, will present the annual Veterans Day Concert on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church. All are welcome to attend.

The annual program, called “From the Bottom of Our Hearts,” will include a number of musicians from our parish and throughout the community, including soloist Marian Vogel Fletcher as the featured soprano.

The band will perform Liberty Fanfare, Shield of Liberty March, Banks of Green Willow, We Stand United March, the Armed Forces Salute, and The Stars and Stripes Forever.

The St. Francis Xavier Church Adult Choir will join the band in The Star-Spangled Banner; America, the Beautiful and God Bless America. The choir also will perform Eternal Father, Strong to Save.

Marian will sing In Flanders Field with the Medina Community Band. The featured guest speaker will be Command Sergeant Major, Retired, Steven L. Minardi.

Admission to the concert is free, and free parking is available. Organizers will collect donations of nonperishable canned goods or monetary donations to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
