The Society for Handicapped Citizens is asking St. Francis Xavier parishioners for help in opening a new home in June! Can you purchase and donate some of these items for their home, or donate a Target gift card so they can be purchased?

Items and gift cards may be dropped off at the St. Francis Xavier Parish parking lot on Saturday, May 22, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers will be there to accept your donations. Click on the button below to see the list of the kinds of items that are needed. (Feel free to purchase related items.) Thank you for your care for our fellow citizens in need!

The Society for Handicapped Citizens of Medina County Inc. (The Society) has been providing services to individuals with disabilities and their families since 1953. The agency provides an array of services with emphasis on helping individuals with disabilities maximize their full potential as members of the community.

SHC owns and operates nine Medicaid-funded homes throughout Medina County. In these family-type homes, individuals receive 24-hour care to meet their adaptive living, personal care, community access, therapeutic and behavior support needs in a highly-regulated, licensed setting.

We are very proud to have a number of St. Francis Xavier parishioners serving in leadership roles on the SHC’s board of trustees.
