Make a wreath for Advent
The Advent wreath is a centuries-old Christian tradition marked by three purple candles and one pink candle. The wreath’s circular shape symbolizes God’s never-ending love for us and it is lighted by candles to symbolize the true Light of the World, Jesus, who leads us into eternal life with Him. Each Sunday of Advent, a new candle is lit, symbolizing hope, peace, joy, and love.
To help you or your family prepare for Christmas, St. Francis Xavier is pleased to offer a workshop where you can make your own Advent wreath. We will supply one 12-inch faux green wreath, four Root taper candles (or battery-operated candles) and embellishments. Wreaths will be blessed at the end of the evening. Enjoy cookie decorating and refreshments.
- Monday, Nov. 18, at 6:30 p.m. in the Xavier Room
- Registration required – space is limited!
- Cost: $25 per wreath
- All are welcome to join in this fun and meaningful activity!
In your home, you might place your Advent wreath on an entry or dining table or another location where you, your family, and your guests can enjoy the wreath during the Advent season.
