Important Dates This Week at SFX School

Comment are off

We are in our final days before life returns to what constitutes “normal” here at St. Francis Xavier Parish for nine months of the year, when the school is in session and the grounds are abuzz with activity and learning. Parents, be sure to check the school’s website, calendar and parish bulletin for some important upcoming dates, but in case you missed it, here are some things you will not want to miss:

* Wednesday, Aug. 13

Curriculum Night for parents (only) of students in grades kindergarten through grade five. Two sessions will be held, at 7 and 7:45 p.m. Teachers will include the same information at each session about what to expect this year.

* Friday, Aug. 15

Middle School Orientation for parents and students of grades six, seven and eight. Grade six meets 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Grades seven and eight meet from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Don’t forget this also is a Holy Day of Obligation, when we celebrate the feast of the Assumption of Mary. Include Mass in your plans today.  Remember why you send your children to a Catholic school, and ask our Blessed Mother to pray for our children, teachers and families as we start a new school year.

* Saturday, Aug. 16

School Open House from 6 to 7 p.m. — come and meet your teachers. Bring your school supplies to lighten the load on Monday.

Tailgate Party for all school families from 6 to 9 p.m. Come over after Mass, buy your picnic dinner and let the kids play some games while everyone catches up after the long summer break.
