Medina faithful gather May 5 for National Day of Prayer

Once a year, on the first Thursday of May, the U.S. Congress encourages all Americans to “turn to God in prayer and meditation” in observance of the National Day of Prayer. Residents of Medina and surrounding communities will again commemorate this day with a community prayer service at 9:15 a.m., Thursday, May 5, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina.

Area church pastors, with the support of Mayor Dennis Hanwell, will lead prayer and worship around this year’s theme, based on Colossians 2:6-8, “Exalt the Lord who has established us.”

All are invited to join together in church, along with 425 students of St. Francis Xavier School, or online at https://www.sfxmedina.com/parish/mass-online/ or visit the St. Francis Xavier Parish YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/c/StFrancisXavierParishMedinaOH.
