Education and Experience
Mrs. Bugner graduated in 1973 from Notre Dame College of Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish with a certificate for Secondary Education. In her early career she was a reporter/editor for the Catholic Universe Bulletin newspaper for six years. The current school year begins her 21st year teaching in St. Francis Xavier School. She began teaching Spanish K-2 and took on additional grades (3-4-5, 6 and then 7-8) throughout the ensuing years.
Personal and Interests
Mrs. Bugner has been married to Ed for 43 years, and they are the proud parents of three remarkable sons: Mark, Paul and John (who all attended St. Francis Xavier School and St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, as well as Xavier University and John Carroll University). They have been active parishioners of St. Francis Xavier since December 1979. Mrs. Bugner has served on the board of Birthcare of Medina County since 2007, and she has been the assistant director/treasurer since 1988. She is passionate about reading children’s literature, absorbing nature’s beauty walking/biking in area parks, creating memories with baking and decorating cakes and spending time with family. She and her husband volunteered with the parish CYO Board for more than 25 years.
Reflection on St. Francis Xavier School
Mrs. Bugner enjoys working within the close-knit community at St. Francis Xavier and loves sharing the Spanish language and culture. Day of the Dead is her favorite holiday. She is especially blessed to teach her own grandchildren. All six grandchildren live in Medina.
