Small-group discussions are an important part of the Spirituality Program for Adults. You may share as much as you are comfortable.

Could your spirituality use some work?
The pace of life can sometimes move along faster than is healthy for us, and we find it hard to slow down and spend meaningful time with the Lord. If this thought has been nagging at you, consider spending a few weeks with the SPA.

The Spirituality Program for Adults is a journey into the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Written 500 years ago, the Exercises offer a structure to help you explore your faith, life journey and relationship with God. The Spiritual Exercises consist of daily prayer and meditation, and journaling while reflecting on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The retreatants commit daily to read, reflect and journal about assigned Scripture (approximately 30 minutes per day). Men and women meet separately in small groups of three to five people to share their weekly experiences of the journey, followed by a short talk by Deacon Paul Kipfstuhl.

The 2018 program begins Thursday, Aug. 30, and continues through Sept. 27. Retreatants are encouraged to attend 7 p.m. Mass, then gather in small, assigned groups in various rooms on the parish grounds. At 8:30 p.m., all retreatants gather to hear from Deacon Paul. The retreat is free and open to anyone, and may be repeated at any time.
