PDSgoudyIt’s here! The day when we can put our faith into action right here in Medina County. Our third annual St. Francis Xavier Parish Day of Service is Saturday, May 27, 2017, and we’ve lined up more than 300 opportunities for parishioners to take part. There are jobs for all ages and abilities, some that are early in the morning, some in the afternoon, some all day, and some can be completed at any part of the day. We hope you’ll find a job that’s perfect for you, that suits your talents and abilities. Step outside your comfort zone and spend time with older residents of our nursing homes, or get to know low-income or disabled residents in our community. Clean cabins at Camp Paradise, which serves children and adults with disabilities, or the cafeteria at Lodi Family Center, which serves low-income families in the Cloverleaf School District. Do some yardwork for adults with disabilities, or wash windows for an elderly parishioner who lives alone. Make no-sew fleece blankets in our Xavier Room for the toddlers served by Birthcare. And so much more! No time to give? Donate items for Operation HOMES, St. Vincent de Paul, Children’s Center of Medina County or Birthcare.  There’s something for everyone. All who participate get a Day of Service shirt to wear that day. After your work is done, come back in your shirt for 5 p.m. Mass and a pizza party where we’ll get to see pictures of the great work done all day.
