Danene was one of five children born in Northeast Ohio, where her family attended St. Mary Parish in Mentor. She graduated from St. Mary School and continued her Catholic education at Lake Catholic High School, where she met her husband, Bill.
Danene started her college career at John Carroll University, and earned her Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Edinboro University in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. She began her teaching career at St. Robert Bellarmine in Euclid, teaching first grade. After her marriage to Bill, they were transferred to South Bend, Indiana, where she taught second grade at St. Anthony of Padua. Shortly after, Bill was transferred to the Medina area, where Danene was able to continue her teaching career at St. Francis Xavier, teaching second grade from 1990 to 1993. Danene was able to stay home for 11 years with her children, all of whom graduated from St. Francis Xavier School. In 2005, Danene returned to teaching at St. Francis Xavier, teaching grades K, 2, 3, 5, and art to students in grades K – 8. Danene was also a member of the Administration Team Leader for the Primary and Specials Teachers. Danene believes change is good for all educators, as it keeps you refreshed and refueled. Besides teaching, she volunteered her time coaching CYO volleyball and basketball.
Danene and Bill are proud of their four adult children. The Beal family have been parishioners at St. Francis Xavier since 1990. When her children were young, Danene was a second-grade PSR teacher for many years. Danene is grateful for her time spent with her family and supports the many activities in which her children are involved. She enjoys gardening, exercising, and soaking in the warmth of the summer sun.
Danene is truly blessed to be the school principal. She believes St. Francis Xavier is a thriving community of academic achievement, spiritual growth, and character development. Danene will continue to implement the school’s common aspiration for respect for others, respect for yourself and most importantly respect for God. Danene’s goal will be to instill the NAVIGATOR WAY among her staff and students!
