Blue Christmas ecumenical service planned to comfort those who mourn

For those who are grieving, this time of year can be especially difficult. At a time when we are told to be “jolly,” those who have experienced some kind of loss can feel isolated and alone.

That’s why we are planning a new Blue Christmas ecumenical service for anyone who is mourning the loss of a loved one through death or divorce, a job, physical or mental health, mobility, or something else. Through prayer, Scripture, candlelight and song, this moving evening of remembrance will give each participant an opportunity to identify and reflect upon the loss he or she has experienced, and to acknowledge the pain that may be especially acute this season. The service endeavors to respect people of all faith traditions.

Please join us at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, in St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina. All are welcome.
